Our price list is thirty-nine pieces long. It is not the list of what we can make — it is the list of what we can quote without asking you a question first. Sixteen of those thirty-nine began here, as something an occasion needed and no list carried. Seven pieces are still in that position today. A booklet of the birkat hamazon. A sign for the sandak's chair. An invitation to the rehearsal dinner. A card naming a fragrance's composition.

Seven pieces we invented because a client needed one.
Every row below is a real piece, drawn for a real occasion, that exists nowhere on our price list and nowhere in anybody else's catalogue. Most were made once. Ten of them are published and you can open them right now; the rest were delivered to the client and never put on public display, so they are named here and nothing more.
For a brit milah — the grace after meals, in the ceremony's own typography.

Seven pieces · seven made · across eighty-seven commissions
The count is not a marketing figure. It comes from
scripts/commission-inventory.py, which reads every piece file the house has
delivered, compares each name against the thirty-nine on the price list, and lists what is
left. Eight further pieces were close enough to a catalogue piece to be arguable — a
cocktail card is nearly a drinks menu — and were deliberately left out of the seven
rather than counted in.

How a commission works.
Exactly like every other piece we make, with one extra step at the front: agreeing what the thing is before anyone designs it.

You describe it
The form below. What the occasion is, what the piece has to do, and roughly when. A sentence is enough — "something for the coat check" was enough.

We quote it
By email, within one working day, with a price and a date. If it is really a piece we already sell under another name, we will say so and quote you the list price instead.

It joins your suite
A commission is not a side project. It is designed from the same approved direction as your invitation, in the same palette and the same type — which is the only reason it looks like it belongs.

You get the files
Print-ready for your printer, screen-ready for your guests. The same delivery as everything else in the suite.
If you have already booked, you do not need this page: the briefing form in your portal has an Other line, and whatever you type there reaches us with the rest of your brief.

Quoted, not listed.
Everything else we sell has a published price, because you should not have to ask. A commission is the one exception, and the reason is honest rather than coy: we do not know what you are going to ask for. A printed tag and a bound booklet are not the same amount of work, and pretending otherwise would mean pricing both as the booklet.
In practice a commissioned piece is quoted against the plan you are already on, and most land in the range of a single catalogue piece. You will have the number before anything is designed, and you are free to say no to it.

What a commission is not.
The word invites everything, so here is the boundary, plainly.
- We design; we do not manufacture. The gift box above is a designed box — artwork, dielines, the lot. We do not print it, fold it or ship it. You take the files to a maker, or we recommend one.
- It has to belong to an occasion we are already designing. A commission grows out of an approved direction. We do not take one-off pieces for events we did not design — there would be no world for the piece to come from.
- Somebody else's trademark is not a brief. We will design your brand's evening. We will not design a piece that trades on a house that is not yours.
- No physical event services. Not the venue, not the flowers, not the printing, not the day itself. We make the things that carry your occasion's design.
