The sweet
sixteen.
The guest of honour chooses the design. Their friends' parents decide whether the invitation is answered.
How do you plan a sweet sixteen?
Set the date three months out and send invitations four to five weeks ahead. Let the sixteen-year-old drive the design — it is their party. But the card must carry an end time, the address, and a parent's phone number, because the people deciding whether their child attends are the parents reading over their shoulder.
01
The timeline.
| Quando | What |
|---|---|
| 3 meses antes | Venue and the guest list — agree the number with the sixteen-year-old first |
| 6 semanas antes | Design, led by them |
| 4 a 5 semanas antes | Send — digitally to the friends, on paper to family |
| 1 week before | Confirm numbers; expect late movement at this age |
02
The pieces.
- The invitation — in both forms. The printed one is for family and the keepsake; the digital one is what actually reaches the friends.
- Welcome signage — the photograph everyone takes.
- A photo wall or backdrop card — at this age, the party partly exists to be photographed.
- Place cards — only if seated, which many are not.
Address the invitation to the named friend only. At sixteen, plus-ones expand a guest list very quickly and unpredictably, and a vague invitation is read generously.

Common questions
Should we say no gifts?
Digital or printed?
How do we handle parents who want to stay?
A design that is genuinely theirs.
A sixteenth is the first party most people get to shape themselves. Evorrah designs from a brief, so the result looks like the person rather than a template.
