Check it
before it prints.

Every rule here comes from a mistake that is free to fix now and expensive to fix after a print run.

What should I check before printing invitations?

Five things catch most of it: the month written in words (numerals are ambiguous internationally), an RSVP deadline and not just the word RSVP, one consistent register for times, no gift or registry wording on the invitation itself, and a physical proof read by someone who did not write it.

Paste your wording.

Mechanical checks only, run in your browser. They cannot judge whether the wording is right for your event — only whether it contains the known traps.

Numeric dates06/07/2027 is 6 July or June 7 depending on the guest's country. Real invitations have been misread this way.
Missing month nameThe single most reliable way to make a date unambiguous.
RSVP with no deadlineA reply request with no date is a suggestion, and will be treated as one.
Mixed time registers"Half after four" and "4.30pm" on the same suite reads as carelessness.
Registry or gift wordingConvention puts this on a details card or the website. On the invitation it reads as a request.
Straight quotes, double hyphensTypographic tells that a piece was typed rather than typeset.
Black tie without a save-the-dateGuests hiring an outfit need more than six weeks' notice.

This does not replace a physical proof. Read the printed piece, aloud, with someone who did not write it — and check the names against how each person actually spells them. Nothing on a screen catches a misspelled surname the way a person who knows them does.

Common questions

Does it check spelling?
No. Your browser and your word processor already do that better, and neither knows how your guests spell their names — which is the error that actually matters.
Nothing was flagged. Am I safe?
It means none of the known traps are present. It is not a guarantee — read a physical proof.
Does it work for non-wedding invitations?
Most of the checks are general: dates, deadlines, registers. The registry and black-tie rules are wedding-shaped and will simply not fire elsewhere.

Or have it set by people who do this daily.

Evorrah typesets your wording into a design made for your event, with proofs at every stage — so the traps above are caught before you ever see them.
