The month before is where the stress actually lives: the silent third of the list, and the awkward messages you would rather not send. We prepare them, on a schedule counted back from your reply deadline, to the guests who have not answered, and to the ones who answered but left something out — and to nobody else.
The schedule.
Two reminders, and the dates are not ours to invent — they count back from the reply deadline you set.
Fourteen days before
A polite first reminder, a fortnight out, to everyone who has not replied. Enough time for a guest to look at a calendar.
Two days before
A last one — close enough to act on, far enough to still be kind. It stays live through the deadline itself, because the day a reply is worth the most is not the day to go quiet.
Only where something is missing
Each reminder is drawn from the list as it stands that morning. It holds the guests who have not replied, and the ones who replied but left something required unanswered — a meal, a name, a plus-one — whose reminder names what is missing and opens at that step. A guest who has answered everything, declined, been removed or opted out is not on it. You can stop it for your event with one control.
Then silence
Past the deadline, nothing sends on its own. The six people still missing are a phone call, and the call is yours to make or to hand to us.

The wording follows the invitation it comes after — the same names, the same tone — and it is shown to you as the guest will read it.
You approve it
Nothing is sent in your name unread. A reminder you do not like is rewritten, not sent.
Email, text, or both
Whichever routes the guest has consented to. A text lands inside that number’s waking hours, wherever in the world it is.
It stops when they answer
A reply after the first reminder takes them off the second. Nobody is thanked and chased in the same week.

The reply date on the card comes and goes. The list says 140 of 210. Somebody drafts a message to everyone — including the 140 — and the caterer is given a number with a shrug in it.

A deadline printed on an invitation is a promise made to real guests, so it is never quietly moved. Past it, the plan does not slide forward to look tidy; it says plainly who is still missing, and the count the caterer gets is the count as it stands, with the held seats named.

Each morning that brings replies brings a short note naming them — and only on mornings that do. Silence does not produce an email about silence.
The note says what is true and checkable: who is now coming, a dietary need the kitchen has not seen, a table that is now full. It does not invent a benchmark for how your list “should” be going.
