Compare
Evorrah
vs Zola.
This comparison is unusual, because for a lot of couples the honest answer is "both, for different jobs". It is worth understanding why the two businesses are shaped so differently before choosing.
Should I use Zola or Evorrah?
They are built around different economics. Registry-led platforms give you a free website and planning tools, funded by the registry and by what you buy through them. Evorrah charges once for an original design and includes guest management. If you want free and comprehensive, use a platform. If you want a design that is yours, commission one.
01
Follow the economics — it explains everything else.
A registry-led wedding platform can offer a free website, free RSVP tools and free planning checklists because the registry is the business. The tools attract couples and the revenue arrives elsewhere. That is a perfectly good arrangement and it delivers enormous value for nothing.
It does have a consequence worth knowing: when a product is free, the design has to be templated. Bespoke design cannot be given away, so what you get is a well-made theme that many other weddings also use. Again — not a criticism, just the shape the model requires.
Evorrah charges once, per event, and designs from a brief. That is why the design is original and why there is a price. Different funding, different product.
02
What each is built for.
Model-level comparison only — no prices or feature claims for other companies. See the note below.
| A registry-led platform | Evorrah | |
|---|---|---|
| The business model | Free tools, funded by registry and purchases | One payment per event, $149–$3,099. No subscription |
| Website | Usually free, from a set of themes | A paid add-on, wearing your approved design rather than a theme |
| Stationery design | Themed, customised with your details | Original, designed for your event from a brief |
| Guest list and RSVPs | Typically included and capable | Included with every commission, up to 2,000 guests |
| Per-guest personalisation | Not the model | One file per guest — name, language, table, personal QR code |
| Registry | Central to the product | Not offered at all |
| Vendor marketplace | Usually a core feature | Not offered at all |
| Occasions covered | Weddings, chiefly | Weddings plus galas, launches, birthdays, mitzvahs, baptisms, corporate |
03
When the answer is genuinely "use both".
There is no conflict in using a free platform for the registry and the vendor tools, and commissioning your stationery and event identity separately. Plenty of couples do exactly that, and we would not argue them out of it — we do not offer a registry and have no plans to.
The one thing worth avoiding is running two guest lists. If replies are collected in one place and seating is built in another, they drift, and reconciling them a fortnight before the wedding is genuinely unpleasant. Pick one system to be the truth about who is coming, and let the other be for what it is best at.
04
The design question, plainly.
A theme
Chosen from a set, and free
You pick a theme you like and it is applied consistently across your website and stationery. It is quick, it is coherent, and it costs nothing. Other weddings this year will have chosen the same one, which for most people is genuinely not a problem.
A commission
Made for one event, and paid for
You write a brief, receive two moodboard directions within 48 hours, choose one, and the full suite is built from it in five business days. Nothing about it exists elsewhere. It costs money and takes a week.
How we compare. This page describes business models rather than feature lists, and quotes no prices or current capabilities for other companies — those change, and a stale claim about a competitor is worse than none. Evorrah's figures are read from our own pricing contract. Check current details with any provider, us included.
Who is writing this. Evorrah publishes this page and sells one of the options on it, which is a reason to read it sceptically. The answer to that is not to pretend otherwise but to be checkable: every Evorrah figure above appears on the pricing page, limitations included — we do not print or ship, the event website is a paid add-on, and two revision rounds are included rather than unlimited. Where we think a competitor is the better choice, this page says so. If anything here is wrong or has gone out of date, write to hello@evorrah.com and we will correct it.
