Baby shower
wording.
The occasion with the widest range of circumstances, and the one where a thoughtless standard phrase does the most damage.
How do you word a baby shower invitation?
Name the host, say who is being celebrated, then the particulars. Registry goes on its own line at the foot. Choose the phrasing to fit the actual situation — "a shower for Elodie" works for a first baby, a second, an adoption or a surrogacy, where "before the baby arrives" may not.

"Honouring" works in every circumstance, which is exactly why it is the safest opening.
A shower for Elodieand the little one on the way
Avoids the blue/pink framing entirely and does not commit you to an announcement you may not want to make.
A shower to welcomethe newest member of the Marchand family
"Welcome" rather than "before the arrival" — the timing of the arrival may not be predictable, and the phrasing should not assume a pregnancy.
A sprinkle for Elodieas she welcomes her second
"Sprinkle" is the established term for a smaller second-baby shower and quietly signals lower gift expectations.
