What stationery
do I actually need?
Most checklists list everything that exists. This one answers what your event needs, based on how many guests you have and whether they are sitting down.
What stationery pieces do I need?
Three are genuinely essential — invitation, details card, reply method. Everything else depends on two things: whether guests are seated for a meal, and how many there are. A seated meal adds menus, place cards and table numbers; over about sixty guests adds a seating plan.
Three questions.
Your list
The output maps onto real suite sizes — Starter 3, Classic 6, Full 9, Premier 12, Grande 16 — so the list is effectively a quote.

What the answers actually change.
- A seated meal is the biggest single fork. It adds menus, place cards and table numbers at once — three designs that a standing reception simply does not need.
- Guest count decides the seating plan. Below about sixty, place cards alone work. Above it, guests hunting for their name is a genuine bottleneck at the door.
- Formality adds the ceremonial pieces — a programme, an envelope liner — that a relaxed event would find fussy.
