How to choose

Planner, app, or a service?

Three ways to handle the invitations and guests for a wedding, a bar or bat mitzvah, or any private event. Each fits a different host. Here is how to tell which one fits you.

Side by side.

Option one

An event planner

What it is
A person who plans the event with you and usually runs the day at the venue.
Who does the work
The planner, with you making the decisions.
At the venue
Usually, yes.
Suppliers
The planner usually finds, books and manages them.
Best when
You want someone in the room on the day, and someone to find and book your venue and suppliers.
Option two

A do-it-yourself app

What it is
Software you set up yourself: an invitation, a reply form, a guest list.
Who does the work
You: sending, tracking and chasing every reply.
At the venue
No one.
Suppliers
You.
Best when
Your guest list is small, you know everyone on it, and you have time in the weeks before to chase replies yourself.
Option three

A service like Evorrah

What it is
Your invitations designed, your event website built, and your guests followed up until they reply.
Who does the work
Evorrah, with you approving the designs.
At the venue
No one from Evorrah. If you want someone there, hire a planner as well.
Suppliers
You or your planner. Evorrah does not find or book them.
Best when
You want the invitations and replies off your plate, and you are booking at least 14 days ahead.

When an app is enough.

  • Your guest list is small and you know everyone on it.
  • You have time in the weeks before to send the invitations, track the replies and chase the guests who have not answered.
  • You do not need designed invitations or an event website.

When you want an in-person planner.

  • You want someone at the venue on the day.
  • You need someone to find, book or negotiate with your venue and suppliers.

Evorrah is not an in-person planner. The two can work side by side: your planner runs the day, and Evorrah designs the invitations and follows up your guests.

Where Evorrah fits.

  • Your invitations and the pieces around them designed for you, with print-ready files that are yours to keep and the printer’s press pack. We design them, you print them: Evorrah does not print or ship cards.
  • Every household followed up until they answer, 14 and 2 days before your reply date. It stops the moment a guest replies.
  • An event website: included on The Whole Event and Fully Handled, $99 on Essentials. On Fully Handled it sits on your own web address.
  • A helper who sees only their side, and family who can only look.
  • Three plans: Essentials $495, The Whole Event $1,495, Fully Handled $2,995. Move up anytime and pay only the difference.
  • Book at least 14 days ahead for Essentials, 21 for The Whole Event and 45 for Fully Handled.

Five questions to ask yourself.

  1. Do I want someone at the venue on the day? If yes, you want a planner.
  2. Do I want to find and book the venue and suppliers myself?
  3. How many guests, and will I chase the ones who do not reply?
  4. Do I want designed invitations and an event website?
  5. How soon is the event? Evorrah needs at least 14 days.

Ready when you are.
