The finished suite

Seven pieces. And then one for every guest.

Every piece below is the delivered artwork, not a mock-up of it. The panel is live: put a name in it and watch each piece that carries a name take it, exactly as it does in a real print run.

The pieces that read the same for the whole room carry no name at all — and we say so.

The palette

Five Tones. One Journey.

Not decoration — every one of these has a job, and they are the same inks the pieces below are printed in.

Invitation

One design here

DL portrait, with the sweep turned on its side. Obsidian holds a full-height rail down the left edge and the announcement runs flush left in the bone field beside it — the monogram at the head of the rail, the occasion reading vertically down it, and the chrome sphere resting at its foot, carrying Atlantis The Royal in miniature on its surface. Nothing graduates across this face: a crystal whisper sits in the top quarter of the bone and the rest is flat paper, so the light and the dark simply stand beside one another. The sphere is the suite's one private image, and it returns on the envelope and again at every place setting.

Delivered here as one design. It is a piece the platform personalises per guest wherever a suite ships its platform edition.

no placeholders

Each guest's own code — live, and it scans. No piece in this suite carries a zone for it, so it reaches the guest through their personal link.

Envelope Exterior

One design here

DL landscape with the stock itself inverted — obsidian rather than ivory, carrying one oversized line of bone in Cormorant italic and the sphere low at the right. The envelope arrives as the event rather than as notice of it.

Envelope Liner

A shared piece

Flat bone emptied to plain paper, with the whole sweep confined to a single narrow column running the full height. The gradient stops being the ground and becomes an object on the page; the guest meets it the moment the flap lifts.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

Dinner Menu

One design here

Tall narrow portrait on one flat obsidian ground, held inside a crystal hairline double frame. The menu refuses the sweep entirely — the only piece in the suite that does — and frozen light survives on it as hairline and type alone. Courses read in bone on dark from the amuse-bouche through to the mignardises, at one weight throughout.

Place Card

What the platform sets

Tent card, ink–gunmetal field, the guest's name in bone beneath the crease. The sphere is cut on the fold itself, so the standing card is capped by a chrome half-moon rather than framing the motif inside a margin. At the table, darkness frames the person and the one bright thing above their name is a horizon.

This piece already carried a guest's name — it shipped showing real ones. The platform simply sets each guest's own.

Table Number

A shared piece

DL portrait on flat bone — and the only place in the suite where the whole silver-to-obsidian sweep happens inside a single glyph. The Roman numeral is the gradient rather than a colour, and everything around it is plain paper. Paired with the dark place card, the table reads light against dark at a glance: the two poles of the system, one on each piece.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

Order of Evening

A shared piece

A5 portrait, full-bleed — the ground has already gone to night, with a single pool of cool light in the upper corner. The title is dropped entirely: eight o'clock at display size is the heading, and the evening descends from it hour by hour in Cormorant italic to carriages at midnight. Read at the table during the aperitif hour, it orientates guests without announcing itself.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

The gang sheet

One approved design. One impression per guest.

Every impression below is the same delivered file — Place Card — with a different guest's name set into it, exactly as it comes off a real run. Not a mock-up: it is the piece shown above, personalised by the same code. The names are examples.

12 guests shown across 12 sheets. A real list simply continues — one run, one file per guest.

The Living Invitation

The same card. And also a page.

At the guest's own link the platform renders Invitation — this file, not a separate digital version — and adds a reply panel to it. On the left, as it prints, with no trace of the panel. On the right, as it opens.

As it prints
As it opens at their link

The panel is injected by the platform, not drawn by the design, and the printed card carries no trace of it. The right-hand state shows how it reads; for the platform to compose it into this piece, the file declares the empty container the Living Invitation expects.

The chosen world

Frozen Light

Variant 07 · The Gradient Column · Chosen

A single gesture carries the entire identity: a five-stop tonal sweep descending from pale bone through ice crystal, silver mist, gunmetal, and into obsidian. No imagery, no ornament — only the measured journey from light into dark. Quiet luxury expressed through restraint.

What the direction refused

Six things that are not here.

A direction is as much what it turns down. This list was written when Frozen Light was chosen, and every piece below holds to it.

What that is worth on the day

The part you cannot see from a photograph

7

Print files, not templates

The seven designs above are delivered as print-ready files — at the true trim size, with the backgrounds and the fonts the printer expects. The one that carries a name becomes a personalised file for every guest on the list.

01

Only what should carry a name

One of the seven pieces carries a name. The rest read the same for the whole room, so they print once — and each one says so.

1:2

One code, two jobs

Each guest's own code opens their own page. The same code, read at the door, marks them arrived — so the host knows who is in the room without a clipboard.

1:∞

A chart that redraws itself

The table numbers above are generated from the event's own list, not typeset one at a time. The seating chart is drawn in the portal from that same list, so moving a guest between tables is a change of one field — not a new piece of artwork.

The invitation is also a page

The same card, at the same guest’s link, with a reply panel drawn into it. Not a separate digital version in a different style — the design itself, continued. It is further down this page, in both of its states.

Before any of this, there were two worlds.

Two worlds were built in full. You chose Frozen Light. Liquid Obsidian is still there, whole.
