A great pale field with almost nothing in it. The names are set once and very large; the distance between them and the foot of the card is the whole composition. Twelve pieces, one ground, one red, and a great deal of paper left alone on purpose.

Names set once and very large, one hairline closing the top third, the story in a short measure, the paired date holding the right column, one red square, and one French line alone at the foot. Nothing on the card does two jobs.
Everything below is fixed for the whole suite. Only the format and what the single red is doing change from piece to piece.
The red is one 5.33mm square and one 9.6pt line — eight tenths of one per cent of the card. That is the whole of it.

These twelve are the finished designs. Say the word and they go to press on 600gsm uncoated cotton rag; the invitation and its envelope lead, the save the date follows immediately, and the thank-you card is held back and printed after the fourteenth with the photograph from the night tipped into it by hand.
Two things are still open and are yours to settle: whether On saute encore recurs on every piece or stays a remark on three, and whether Vivienne's green-blue — the stone she has worn for sixty years — earns a place anywhere in the suite. It currently has none, deliberately.
