In 2019 four of us who couldn't afford to fly anywhere cooked a bird in a broken oven and ate it at half past four, because that is when it was finally done. We have done it every year since — always the Friday after, so nobody has to choose between us and their family, and always 4:30 out of pure superstition. It is twenty-two people now. Theo runs a kitchen and still will not cook the turkey; that is my job, I am not good at it, and the fact that I am not good at it is the tradition. 27.11 · Apartment 5B
Two things before you post.
Post after the invitations land. Replies are due by 13 November, so the cards go out well before
that — give it about a week. Somebody who sees this before their own card has been told twice, and the
first time didn't include them.
Post it as it is. No crop, no filter, no frame. It is one ink on warm paper and a filter turns
that into something else — and every platform re-compresses once anyway, so anything done first gets
compressed twice.
